Disney began to have some doubts,too,wondering if they could ever get their investment back.As the date for the premiere of Snow White grew closer Disney was running out of time and money.He nearly went bankrupt because of the astronomical ? 1.5 million estimate of the cost.The long-awaited day came at last. The big opening was Tuesday,December 21,1937,at the famous Carthay Circle Theatre in Los angeles.Charlie Chaplin,Marlene Dietrich etc. were there,too, along with  every other star of importance in Hollywood .It was a critical 83 minutes for Walt Disney .In one evening he could be wiped out or find himself sitting on the top of the world.The crying and whimpering audience showed unambiguously how the grown-up audience receive the film.

Disney’s first full-length animated musical feature hit the movie screens.It broke all records and established Disney as an innovative filmmaker.The peak of the success was that moment when Shirley Temple and Walt Disney received the Oscar Award and 7 tiny Oscars.(Snow White ‘s nomination was  for Best Score).Walt Disney was awarded with a Honorary Oscar.
